European sizing
In Slovakia and across most of Europe, clothing sizes typically start at size 32 (the smallest) and increase in increments of two (34, 36, 38, etc.). This system is also common in countries like France and Germany. You may also come across international sizing, which uses letters such as XS, S, M, L, up to XXL. The letter “X” stands for “extra” – for example, XS means extra small, while XL means extra large.

Italian sizing
You may have noticed that Italian sizes are usually higher than what you are used to. At first, this can be confusing, as your clothing size may appear larger than expected.

For example, you might normally wear a size S and assume that size 40 would be too large. However, Italian sizing works differently. It typically starts at size 38, which corresponds to an XS in our sizing system. This means that size 40 corresponds to an S, size 42 to an M, and so on – the numbering increases in the same way, just starting from a higher base.
